Club owned gliders
Puchacz trainers GEO and GPZ are used by pilots beginning their gliding training. These gliders are manufactured in Poland and are designed especially for training ab initio pilots.
Janus two seater GNN is manufactured in Germany for more advanced training and cross country flying. It is designed for performance flying.
The Duo Discus Turbo GXT is a high performance two seater glider for serious cross country flying. This aircraft has a sustainer engine which may be used in cases where a land out is likely to occur.
Single seat PW5 glider GPE is an aircraft which students fly as their first single seat aircraft. Light and very manoeuvrable these gliders are designed as a World Class Glider. This class has national and international competitions as well being great club machines.
A high performance single seat glider GKM is manufactured in Germany. This LS4 model is recognised as an excellent cross country and competition capable glider which can be flown in a variety of gliding competitions as well as being gentle enough for recreational pilots.
Rates
Tow costs:
A tow is charged on a per minute basis. An average tow is between 7 and 10 minutes long depending on the height you are towing to and depending on the weather conditions on the day.
Glider costs:
Glider hire is also based on a per minute price up to a maximum charge of three hours for the Duo Discus and two hours for all other gliders where after the glider time is free.
Membership fee:
A membership fee is payable per annum and covers insurance, GNZ affiliation fees, Soaring magazine, administration costs and use of all club facilities.
